The Diamond Powerball Gyro Exerciser is capable of generating 15 lbs of resistance making it perfect for children, finger strength training, or grip training with small hands! The Diamond Powerball comes in Pink or Turquoise bands with matching LEDs. The faster your Powerball spins, the brighter the LEDs become. As you spin your gyro you%u2019ll feel the muscles from your finger tips to your biceps start to ache as your speed builds. Slip it in your pocket or purse when you%u2019re done and take it with you for a quick workout on the go! How Does it Work? The rotor inside of the Diamond is capable of spinning in two directions, on the X axis and Y axis. The faster the rotor spins, the more it wants to stay spinning. When you move your hand, the rotor resists your hand%u2019s movement. The faster it is spinning, the more it resists! So get your Diamond rotor spinning, turn your hand left to right like you%u2019re turning a door knob and experience the wonders of a gyroscopic exercise!

I have a regular size powerball of a decent quality, so I know how to operate this thing. This DFX mini ball is of low quality and is useless as an exerciser because the rotor inside does not rotate smoothly and thus it is impossible to accelerate the rotation and to maintain the momentum.
I have had a full sized Dynaflex Powerball for several years and thought I'd get a pocketable version for use during the course of a work day. The Diamond model works well enough, but has a cheaper look to it, perhaps a byproduct of its smaller size.
The pull string included with it is too large in diameter and only allows a single rotation of windup before jamming on the outer shell. This makes it a little tougher to start it up, especially for an inexperienced user. The string that came with my larger model worked just fine when used on the Diamond, being a smaller diameter. More likely a thoughtless factory substitution than a design flaw.
The LEDs, described as "matching" are actually a mix of white and green in color, actually a nice unexpected surprise. And admittedly, half the fun of this device is the human-powered light show.
