Due to my research I concluded that i fit the criteria that was adequate to use this treadmill. I am a 63 inch tall female weighing in at 122 lbs. My purpose was to use the machine to walk while I watched Dr Phil in the winter. Just to get some extra steps in during the winter months when it was too cold to go outside. I had NO PLANS to run or otherwise use the machine as an extensive cardio machine as it was advertised as a "power walker."
I received the item in a timely manner and it was well packaged. As previous reviews have stated the set up was easy but it took me a while because the instructions were POOR. I ended up trying to google it, that didnt work. I stared blankly at the machine and pieces until it made sense to me.
Finally I got it all together. I plugged it in. Yes it was rickety, cheap, the belt lagged slightly. It was not the smoothest. This was not what bothered me. I expected not the best quality for the price I paid. What bothered me was that the track was SO SMALL I could not work with it all. My ankles were hitting each other and I was hobbling over myself.
I put the machine in my closet. I went to bed ( i work third shift). My boyfriend decided to be a saint and clean up and ripped up the box and threw it in the recycling. I now had no return box.
Thinking I now had to live with the machine I tried to force myself to like it. It was a no go. Still to small, even thought I am small.
I emailed the company. I offered them to buy the next size up treadmill and asked them if they could take this machine back. I told them it was too small, un usable. I told them I no longer had the box and would send it back in the box the bigger treadmill came in.
They told me that was a no go and that i would have to return this treadmill first. Being an avid amazon/ebay seller I know the cost of shipping and also the cost of customer service. I told the company no thank you and that i would be leaving a one star review.
During this time I researched local animal care facilities and found one to donate the machine to. It will be perfect for physical therapy for small dogs and animals.
After the company was informed they would be receiving a one star review they tried to pacify me with other options but I was no longer interested in what they had to say.
This treadmill is very small with a runway length of less than 36 inches, and the belt is only 11 inches wide. This makes it impractical and difficult for anyone over about 5 foot 3 or over 190 pounds (the weight limit on this is 198 lbs.) It says that it only goes up to 3.7 miles per hour, but that is not true...it goes up to about 7mph. but because of the small size, anything over 4.5 mph is not recommend due to the risk of falling off. There is a safety cord with an attached magnet, that you pull out of the console, to stop the belt. This one also has a slight fixed incline too it, but is not too terribly steep. I remedied this by leveling out the platform with a couple of wooden blocks placed under the rear feet of the treadmill. The monitor on it has about 4 functions, including...speed, calories burned, time, and distance...very basic and easy to use. There is a "scan" button that can be pressed during your workout, which will cycle through the various functions to display your workout progress. It was very easy to assemble, as it comes pretty much assembled, all you have to do is screw in about 5 screws.
With all that said, This is a very basic, economical treadmill for smaller, elderly, or people with breathing issues. Do not expect a high tech, fully equipped machine that you would find at the gym, because this is not it. However, I am very satisfied with it to fulfill my workout sessions.
It is very short. If the walking area were extended by a fiot, it would be more comfortable. I'm 5'2", and I'm having a hard time taking normal strides, which isn't great for my back.
2. The lowest speed is still kind of a speed walk. It doesn't start out slow to let you ease into it, and that can be rough for someone who is going from a sedentary life to walking on a treadmill.
3. The handlebar is on the front, with nothing on the sides to hold onto. Makes it a little difficult, especially since it's very narrow and short.
Other than that, it was cheap, delivered quickly, easy setup, and works well. I'm not 100% happy with it, but I'll definitely use it.
About 40-45lbs was able to drag down to the basement by myself. Opening it was i laughed- this is not made for regular size human... A child yah. The tread is probably 3ft? And not very wide.
BUT! its perfect for a dog weighing 5-45lbs but not as long as a lab. Treadmills for dogs run from $500-2000+
But this is quiet and was delivered 4 days early. Im glad i bought this.
The photo i posted i tried to get the size of it. My dogs 10#.
