Thank you for your patience:) *As Of March 1st 2014 our mats are made with a new rubber blend that has less of an initial rubber odour *For additional cushioning and absorption on hard surfaces (tile, cement, hardwood) we recommend using the Square36 Yoga MAX mat (8'x6') as an underlay. Not squishy, but the high density of rubber helps with absorption for joints. *Store the mat laying flat or in the rolled position, NOT folded.
